About Jim Lacy
Jim Lacy was born in 1948 in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. In 1967 he enlisted into the US Navy and was twice deployed to Vietnam, serving on aircraft carriers. In 1969 he married Jackie between deployments and was honorably discharged in 1970. He and Jackie moved to Phoenix, Arizona where they resided for twenty years.
Jim served an apprenticeship in Phoenix to become a journeyman custom cabinetmaker and was active in the trade while also being involved in Christian ministry since 1972 when he was born-again in Christ. He is a graduate of Christian International College, having earned a Bachelor of Theology degree in 1988.
Jim and Jackie served in associate and lead pastoral positions together in Phoenix and in Yuma, Arizona for forty-five years. They have a daughter, son in law and two grown granddaughters, all of whom served with Jim and Jackie in the churches they led.
Jim is an ordained bishop in the Church of God, headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. He served as a district overseer under the direction of the State Administrative Bishop in Arizona from 2016 until 2018. Jim and Jackie are currently serving as college pastors at Free Grace Bible College, a ministry of Free Grace United Church in Elk River, Minnesota. He and Jackie also serve together aiding and encouraging local churches and leaders at Embassy of Grace Ministries, which they founded.
